LANCASTER, Pa. – Lydia Ko, wearing a sunshine yellow shirt and and holding an Arnold Palmer drink, was all smiles after closing with a 2-under 68 at the U.S. Women’s Open. Ko never really contended here, but the shift in her attitude says much about what we can expect the rest of the summer.
“The last two weeks, Arkansas and here, trying to smile a lot more and really enjoy it,” said Ko.
The 18-year-old admitted to feeling homesick in recent months, causing her to lose her edge. Last winter, Ko spent only three days in her native New Zealand.
