Lutz, Brandes advance to U.S. Senior Amateur final

Chip Lutz is one step closer to adding a U.S. Golf Association senior title to his collection.

Lutz, 60, advanced to the 18-hole final of the U.S. Senior Amateur at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, N.J.

Lutz, of Reading, Pa., defeated Tim Jackson, a two-time U.S. Mid-Amateur champion from Germantown, Tenn., 1 up, in the semfinals. Tom Brandes, of Bellevue, Wash., defeated Steven Liebler, of Irmo, S.C., in 21 holes in the other semifinal.

Lutz is a two-time Canadian Men’s Senior Amateur and a two-time Senior British Amateur champion (winning all titles in 2011 and ’12).
