Forced back to U.S. Open qualifying for the first 11 years, Luke Donald responded with a 68 in his second round Monday to earn a spot at Chambers Bay next week.

On a long day of eight 36-hole qualifiers across the country, Donald chose his home course - The Bear's Club - in the Florida qualifier and had rounds of 72-68 to avoid a playoff by one shot.
