Ryann O’Toole went to the final stage of LPGA Q-School in 2009 with a broken right hand. She removed her cast two weeks early and tried to compete, but wound up with Symetra Tour status and an unlikely introduction to yoga.
One of O’Toole’s sponsors encouraged the first-year pro to join him at a yoga class because the businessman found the practice to be therapeutic. He then bought her 20 sessions and refilled them as needed.
“I noticed a huge improvement in my golf game and my stamina,” said O’Toole, who tries to find a good yoga studio on the road each week.
