NAPLES, Fla. – LPGA commissioner Mike Whan donned a cheesehead cap and caught a football thrown across the room to him in a news conference Friday at the CME Group Tour Championship while announcing the tour will be playing a new event in Green Bay, Wis., in 2017.
The new Oneida Nation LPGA Classic will be played at Thornberry Creek, a golf course owned by the Oneida Nation on the Oneida Reservation. The dates will be announced at a future date.
It will be a 72-hole stroke play event with a 144-player field and $2 million purse.
