LPGA event in Japan gets new title sponsor

The LPGA’s event in Japan, its longest-running tournament in Asia, has a new title sponsor, the LPGA announced Tuesday.

Toto, a manufacturer of bathroom fixtures and fittings, is upping the ante in its sponsorship, elevating the purse to $1.5 million in the limited field event, an increase of $300,000 over last year. The Toto Japan Classic is set to be played November 6-8 at Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club in Shima-Shi, Mie, Japan

The event got its start in 1973 as the LPGA Japan Classic. It was played as the Mizuno Classic from 1999-2014.
