Blame it on the weather, but at this year’s WGC Cadillac Championship the famed Blue Monster is playing a little friendlier – or at least drier. Balls that used to hit the steep embankments banks and roll into the water are staying up, leaving golfers – and viewers at home – with the thrill of PGA Tour golf in casual apparel, with socks off, pants rolled up, and the sound of “splish, splash.”
Just ask Jason Dufner in Thursday’s first round, who had a go at the green of the par-5 eighth hole and came up too far left – into the pond lapping the green.
