RIO DE JANEIRO – Lexi Thompson is, by far, the most familiar face on the U.S. women’s team and, at fourth in the Rolex Rankings, among the favorites to win a medal this week in Rio.
But alongside the 21-year-old this week at the Olympic Golf Course will be a, relatively, new face.
Thompson’s father, Scott, will caddie for her this week, a change that first occurred at last month’s Women’s British Open, where she finished tied for eighth.
In fact, this will be Scott Thompson’s third week on his daughter’s bag this year after the duo tied for 10th at the Lotte Championship in April.
