PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Midway through the third round of The Players Championship, Kevin Kisner looked at the leaderboard and noticed almost as big a traffic jam as the one he faced trying to get to TPC Sawgrass on State Road A1A.
“It’s crazy,” Kisner said. “At one point I saw there was like 45 guys within four shots of the lead.”
World No. 1 Rory McIlroy echoed that sentiment. “It seems like half of the Tour have a chance to win this thing,” he said.
A wee bit of hyperbole by the Northern Irishman, but McIlroy wasn’t far off.
