Paul Lawrie’s 2-under 70 in the third round of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club got him one step closer to capturing his third Qatar Masters title.
Lawrie, at 13 under overall, sits two shots ahead of defending champion Branden Grace, who is trying to become the first back-to-back champion at the Qatar Masters. Thorbjorn Olesen is also at 11 under overall.
Lawrie hasn’t won on the European Tour since 2012, the same year he won his second Qatar Masters title. His first win at the Qatar Masters win came in 1999.
Sergio Garcia is seven shots off the lead after a 2-over 74 Friday.
