AUGUSTA, Ga. – Bernhard Langer has been saying for years that a senior player will eventually win a men’s major.
He might just be the one that sets the mark.
Langer, 58, pulled within a shot of the lead Saturday at the Masters before he bogeyed the last hole and Jordan Spieth began to pull away. Still, Langer, who won his first green jacket 31 years ago, will enter the final round in the penultimate group, at 1-under 215, four shots back of Spieth.
“Sooner or later, it’s going to happen,” Langer said after a third-round 70.
