SACRAMENTO, Calif. — We've all heard of the exploding golf ball, which is one of golf's oldest tricks. The golfer swings, makes contact, and the ball explodes with a loud bang and small cloud of smoke.
In Sunday's final round of the U.S. Senior Open at Del Paso Country Club, Neal Lancaster unveiled a much more difficult version of this trick – the exploding golf hole.
Playing the 178-yard second hole, Lancaster hit a 7-iron shot that carried on the fly into the cup.
