NASSAU, Bahamas — With all due respect to the other 17 players in attendance, no competitor at the Hero World Challenge has been pulled in as many directions as Anirban Lahiri.
Not that he’s complaining, mind you. He’s exceedingly polite and sincerely appreciative of everything his golf skills have delivered, so Lahiri accepts the week for what it is. “I’m here in my capacity as a player and as a representative,” Lahiri said. “I enjoy it.”
As India’s best golfer, he has tens of millions of countrymen pulling for him. And in Hero MotoCorp, the title sponsor of this 18-player tournament and an India-based company, Lahiri has someone to whom he feels indebted.
