Lydia Ko didn’t take home a trophy Sunday at the Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout, but she battled for every cent she’s sending to the relief effort intended to help Nepal recover from the devastating earthquake.
Ko closed with an even-par 71 to finish tied for 41st. She earned $6,241. Before the event’s start, she pledged to donate all of her winnings to the relief effort.
“I wish a couple more putts would have dropped,” Ko said.
Ko had to rally Friday just to make the cut, making three birdies on her back nine to make it on the number.
