PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico – Russell Knox’s globetrotting month of golf is drawing to a close, but not before the Scot has one more chance to win on the PGA Tour.
Days removed from his maiden victory at the WGC-HSBC Champions, Knox is again on the leaderboard at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. He stated Wednesday that his expectations were low entering the week as he continued to fight off jet lag, and an opening-round 70 put him closer to the cut line than the leaders.
But subsequent scores of 65-65 have Knox at 13 under, tied for third and within three shots of Derek Fathauer.
