On a soggy but eventually sunny day at Colonial, Chris Kirk took advantage of lift, clean and place rules, turned in a final-round 66, and won the Crowne Plaza Invitational by one.
What it means: This is Kirk’s fourth PGA Tour victory and his first since the Deutsche Bank Championship in the FedEx Cup playoffs last September. Kirk was the 54-hole lead at The Players two weeks ago but struggled to a Sunday 75. Three back to start the final-round at Colonial, he opened with an eagle and made three more birdies against a lone bogey.
