EDISON, N.J. – Chris Kirk gets back to work on Thursday six weeks after breaking his right hand while playing with one of his children.
Kirk, who last played on Tour at the U.S. Open, said he started hitting golf balls again earlier this month and that he could have returned for last week’s Wyndham Championship but wanted to wait and make sure he was fully healed.
“Golf is a lot more fun when you’re not in pain,” he said on Wednesday at The Barclays.
Kirk said he had been undergoing special treatment at the University of Georgia on a “bone stim machine,” which stimulates bone growth using ultrasound.
