Kevin Na finished off a 9-under 61 in Round 1 of the Sony Open in Hawaii by walking in a 6-footer for birdie and the lead.
After his round, Golf Channel’s Steve Burkowski asked Na where walking-in putts originated.
“I’ve always done it,” said Na, the tournament's defending champion. “Nobody thought it was cool until, you know, the Big Cat imitated me.”
Na was referencing Tiger Woods and when the two played together in the third round of the 2019 Players Championship. As you can see below, at the par-3 17th, Na nearly picked his ball out of the hole before it hit the bottom of the cup.
