Several times during the first two days of the Solheim Cup, Golf Channel anchors Terry Gannon and Tom Abbott have informed viewers that, in effect, if you don’t like the pictures you’re seeing, don’t blame us.
They didn’t elaborate, and viewers might not have appreciated the point they were making. The Solheim Cup is being produced by U.Com Media, a German firm, and Golf Channel was one of several international broadcasters that used its feed. So Golf Channel has little control over the pictures and graphics it’s showing from Germany. It’s not unlike the bad old days a decade ago when ABC had to use the BBC feed for the Open Championship.
