SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Ariya Jutanugarn loves her 2-iron, and she’s using it to give herself a chance at winning a fourth consecutive LPGA start and her first major championship.
With a 3-under-par 68 Saturday, Jutanugarn moved two shots off the lead at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
Most women don’t carry a 2-iron, and most have never even hit one.
“Laura Davies is the only other player out here I know who carries one,” said Les Luark, Jutanugarn’s caddie.
Jutanugarn doesn’t just carry a 2-iron; it’s her favorite club.
“I love my 2-iron so much,” Jutanugarn said.
