RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Pulling away from the field Sunday at the ANA Inspiration, Ariya Jutanugarn made it look as if nobody could beat her.
And then she collapsed.
Two shots ahead with three to play, Jutanugarn bogeyed those final three holes, opening the door for Lydia Ko to win.
“Only the last three holes, I really get nervous, especially being my first time leading [a major],” Jutanugarn said.
Jutanugarn, 20, was brilliant early, birdieing four of five holes in the middle of her round, but trouble struck at the 16th, where she three putted from 50 feet.
