Justin Rose puts on clinic at Bay Hill after rough week at Doral

ORLANDO, Fla. – Certain phrases can be instructive, but only on some occasions.

Take, for example, the time-honored golf saying, "Beware the ailing golfer," — denoting the idea that a sick player may actually be more apt to perform. While the concept can hold water at times, Justin Rose might argue against it being 100 percent effective.

Two weeks ago at the WGC-Cadillac Championship, Rose opened 75-73-72, and only a final-round 67 moved him into a respectable T-17. That uncharacteristic streak of subpar rounds from the Englishman apparently happened with good reason.

"I had no business to play (that week)," Rose said.
