Junior golfer Michael Sanders sets great example with charitable efforts

Last month at the AJGA Rolex Junior All-America Awards Banquet at PGA National, Philip Barbaree received his Rolex Junior Player of the Year Award. Of course, Barbaree wasn't the only LSU commit honored that night in in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Michael Sanders, a 2018 recruit from Davidson, N.C., who committed to the Tigers in March, was among a select group of players spotlighted for their charitable contributions.

A couple of years ago, Sanders played in a charity event called the Dormie Cup, a Ryder Cup-style tournament for junior golfers in North Carolina. The event was founded by golfers Thomas Walsh and Patrick Cover, but needed new leadership this year as Walsh and Cover went off to college.
