Jorge Garcia captured the South Beach International Amateur on Wednesday, thanks in part to a final-round 66 at Miami Beach Golf Club. A 7-under 276 total put Garcia three strokes ahead of Jacob Hicks, Sarosh Adi and Luis Garza.
“It is very special to see Jorge win this tournament; it is obviously very special for him to win in his adopted backyard,” Executive Director Jeff Hunt said. “Our field is one of the strongest in the world, and Jorge is so good we knew he would take the trophy one day, and that day was today!”
The University of Florida freshman put a nice cap on 2015 with a second win, the first coming at the Terra Cotta Invitational in April.
