PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Normally, you don’t scroll down more than 60 players before you find Jordan Spieth’s name in the results. But it wasn’t so much that he shot 1 under to sit T-65 in the first round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
It was the way in which his round at Spyglass Hill was scripted.
“A bit weak,” Spieth said after posting 71, his highest score in four trips around Spyglass. “I played the hardest holes on this golf course 4 under, then I played all the easy ones 1 over.”
Give the kid credit.
