KAPALUA, Hawaii — Jordan Spieth entered most PGA Tour events last season as the pre-tournament favorite, and the World No. 1 returns to that role as the Hyundai Tournament of Champions begins today at Kapalua Resort’s Plantation Course.
Las Vegas has installed Spieth as a 4-1 favorite to claim the elite 32-man tournament for winners of last season’s PGA Tour events, according to Golfodds.com. PGA champion Jason Day is the second choice, at 5-1.
Long-hitting Dustin Johnson is a 15-2 pick, with Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler and Patrick Reed, the defending champion, as 10-1 selections.
British Open winner Zach Johnson is 20-1, with Kevin Kisner and Brooks Koepka.
