Jordan Spieth views Ryder Cup with ‘clean slate,’ vows fresh U.S. mindset

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – Jordan Spieth’s Ryder Cup declaration should be unpleasant reading for European captain Darren Clarke.

It might be nine months until the teams clash at Hazeltine National in Minnesota, but Spieth already is determined to reverse the trend of European victories, which has reached three in a row and eight of the past 10.

“It’s a huge goal this year for me, and possibly at the very top of the list to try and get that win as a team,” said Spieth, who is making his debut in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship this week.
