World No. 1 Jordan Spieth has one more stop on his whirlwind global schedule of 2015 – he is scheduled to play this afternoon with country music standout (and good buddy) Jake Owen in the 70th Grapefruit Pro-Am in Vero Beach, Fla.
Owen, a Vero Beach native and single-digit handicapper, and Spieth became friends a few years ago when the two partnered at the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Spieth did not yet have his Tour card.
“We hit it off and became good friends," Owen told tcpalm.com on Saturday. "I’ve helped him with his charity event for a few years and I told him he owed me a favor one day and this happens to be that favor.
