Who would have guessed that in his third go-round as a pro at his hometown event, the AT&T Byron Nelson, Dallas resident Jordan Spieth still would be looking to improve upon what he did as a 16-year-old amateur in 2010.
That year, Spieth tied for 16th, after having been seventh through 54 holes.
He tied for 32nd a year later, but as a professional, Spieth hasn’t been able to quite match the magic of 2010. He finished T-68 in his rookie year, 2013, was T-37 a year ago, and he made just six weekend birdies to settle into a share of 30th this time around.
