Jordan Spieth rested, ready and energized for AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Contrary to sentiments a few weeks ago that may have been interpreted as fatigue, Jordan Spieth expressed a burning desire to get back between the ropes.

Rested. Ready. Energized.

Spieth said he was all of that on the eve of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. “It’s amazing what a solid week back here . . . will do,” Spieth said.

The world No. 1 likely understands that his comments from Abu Dhabi created a bit of a stir. Having decided to play back-to-back weeks in tournaments that paid exorbitant appearance fees — first in Abu Dhabi, then in Singapore — Spieth told reporters in between the events that it was too much, that he would be re-thinking such moves in years to come.
