Jordan Spieth begins 2016 with huge statement at Hyundai TOC

KAPALUA, Hawaii –– As if Jordan Spieth’s world No. 1 ranking needed any further validation.

The golf world is already seemingly revolving around the 22-year-old, who last year won five times, including two majors, and took home the FedEx Cup title. He wasted little time getting into the winner’s circle in 2016, posting a 30-under 262 on Kapalua’s Plantation Course to win the Hyundai Tournament of Champions by eight shots over a field that included six of the top 10 players in the world.

“Do the talking with your clubs,” said Spieth, who capped his impressive tournament with a final-round, 6-under 67.
