DUBLIN, Ohio – Masters champion Jordan Spieth is the only player who can win the Grand Slam this year, and after his final-round 65 at the Memorial on Sunday, his game looks in good enough shape to keep the chase going in two weeks at Chambers Bay.
Spieth, 21, left Muirfield Village thinking he could have – and maybe should have – won this week if not for a few downhill left-to-right putts inside 10 feet.
“I was walking with Michael (Greller, Spieth’s caddie) and said, ‘Gosh, I hope that’s 6 feet,” Spieth said of the birdie putt he had on the 18th hole.
