Dustin Johnson earned the first of what should be multiple season-ending awards Wednesday when he was named the Player of the Year by the PGA of America.
The PGA uses a points-based system to determine its winner. Johnson earned 90 points for his three wins, which included the U.S. Open. Jason Day was second, with 74 points, while Adam Scott (54), Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy (44 points each) rounded out the top five.
Johnson (69.17) also won the Vardon Trophy for the lowest adjusted scoring average.
