HONG KONG (AP) -- China's Jin Cheng had four birdies and an eagle in a five-hole stretch on the way to a tournament-record 8-under-par 62 on Thursday and the early first-round lead at the Asia-Pacific Amateur.
Jin, among the early starters after a 90-minute lightning delay at Hong Kong's par-70 Clearwater Bay course, birdied the 17th and eagled the 18th after starting on the 10th hole. He then birdied the first three holes on the front nine and added birdies on 5 and 7 before a five-foot par save on his last hole for his best career round.
