Jared du Toit’s electrifying eagle gives Canada hope to end drought; Brandt Snedeker surges to RBC Canadian Open lead

What a story this is turning out to be.

Jared du Toit came into the week without a PGA Tour start on his record nor much notoriety. He was likely the third-most heralded player on the 2015-16 Arizona State roster, behind Jon Rahm and Max Rottluff.

Now, though… oh man.

Du Toit, who sat one back after 36 holes, ended his third round at the RBC Canadian Open with a thump Saturday. The 21-year-old amateur came to Glen Abbey Golf Club’s par-5 18th green at 6 under and three off Brandt Snedeker’s lead facing a 40-foot putt for eagle.
