James Driscoll enjoys Tour’s pass through Web.com Q-School

File this one under “unexpected pleasures” and consider it proof that it’s not easy for players even to keep track of all the regulations for the various circuits under the PGA Tour umbrella.

But James Driscoll is certainly grateful for the good news that he has exempt status on the Web.com Tour for 2016.

“Had already put my application in for second stage,” Driscoll said via text message. “Was pretty psyched to get that call (that said he didn’t have to qualify).”

The 38-year-old Driscoll finished 115th on the Web.com Tour money list last season and was prepared for Q-School when he got word that he didn’t have to qualify.
