Good week for the oldies on this week’s European Tour. Thongchai Jaidee proved players 45-years-old can compete with Europe’s young guns, while 58-year-old Bernhard Langer looked like he should still be playing the European Tour never mind the Champions Tour.
Jaidee won the Porsche European Open on Sunday, with Langer emerging victorious in the German flight.
The little man from Thailand won by a shot over England’s Graeme Storm after posting a 17-under267. The 45-year-old returned a bogey-free closing 4-under 67 to earn his seventh European Tour victory. He picked up a check for €333,330 (approx. $373,000).
