ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Freddie Jacobson shot a second-round 67 on the Plantation Course for a share of second place, but it was a junior soccer match involving his son last week that had him fired up on Friday at the RSM Classic.
“It was so much fun, a much better match than last year when I was coaching,” Jacobson laughed. “He [Max] had a big smile.”
Similarly, Jacobson was all smiles on Friday as he explained Max’s recovery from open-heart surgery on Aug. 3. The procedure corrected an “anomalous origin of the right-coronary artery” and his soccer match last week was a testament to how far the 7 year old has come in the recovery process.
