Irish golfers will make up half of the 2015 Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team for the first time in the matches’ 93-year history, the R&A announced Monday.
Paul Dunne, Jack Hume, Gary Hurley, Gavin Moynihan and Cormac Sharvin take their place on the GB&I side, breaking the previous record of four Irish players on the 1949 and ’51 GB&I teams.
Scots Grant Forrest and Jack McDonald also have been selected. Englishmen Ashley Chesters, Jimmy Mullen and Sam Horsfield complete the team. There is no room for Welshman David Boote, who will be a senior at Stanford.
