BURLINGTON, Iowa – Tyler Stith decided he’d wait until his Iowa team made it through the sixth hole to look at live scoring. Stith’s Hawkeyes had doubled their lead at the Golfweek Conference Challenge to 14 strokes the first time he looked at his phone.
“Felt pretty good about that,” he said.
Five holes later, Iowa’s lead had been cut to four. N.C. State would get as close as three strokes before Stith decided to just leave his phone in his pocket.
“I was walking with Nate (Yankovich) and I knew that it wasn’t going to help our situation if I kept looking,” he said.
