WOBURN, England – Mo Martin has a tough job ahead Sunday trying to win her second Ricoh Women’s British Open, but she’s beaming with confidence.
“My ball striking, this is the best I’ve ever hit it,” Martin said.
In a frustrating twist of fate, Martin injured her left thumb a week after winning the Women’s British Open at Royal Birkdale two years ago. With cartilage damage, a dorsal impingement of the thumb joint, she was robbed of the chance to build on her breakthrough. She spent most of the rest of that year struggling with the injury.
