WINDERMERE, Fla. –– Four years ago, a freshman from Texas named Jordan Spieth opened the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational, then called the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, with a 7-under 65 to set the tournament scoring record at Isleworth Country Club.
On Tuesday, gusty winds made sure no one came close to that mark, but Dylan Meyer’s 4-under 68 was still pretty impressive considering the scoring conditions.
No, it wasn’t the low round of the day – Cal’s Collin Morikawa was one shot better – but it was the only bogey-free round in the field and the first blemish-free round for Meyer in quite a while.
