ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) — In-Kyung Kim of South Korea banished the haunting memory of missing a 14-inch par putt for a major victory and replaced it with the sweet sensation of winning the Women’s British Open on Sunday.
Finally, she can call herself a major champion.
After starting the final round with a six-shot lead, Kim never let anyone draw closer than two shots and sealed the victory at Kingsbarns Links with a bold hybrid over the burn to the 17th green. She made nine pars on the back nine and closed with a one-under-par 71 for a two-shot victory.
