Icher looks to become oldest LPGA winner this year

Karine Icher moved into position Saturday at the ShopRite Classic to win her first LPGA title and break the chokehold youth has gained on that tour this year.

Icher equaled the tournament course record at Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club, posting a 9-under-par 62 to take the lead going into Sunday’s final round, which is being pushed up to an early start with a threat of bad weather in the area. Icher’s at 12 under overall, a shot ahead of Haru Nomura (66) and Na Yeon Choi (64).

Nomura is seeking her third LPGA title this year, which would equal Ariya Jutanugarn as most on tour.
