GURNEE, Ill. – Charley Hull, who led England’s upset of the United States in Thursday’s start of the UL International Crown, was ill and unable to tee it up for the start of Friday’s fourball match against Japan.
Hull, 20, showed up early Friday to prepare to go out with Mel Reid, but she wasn’t able to warm up.
When Hull’s tee time came at 9:45 a.m. ET, she was too sick to play.
Reid started the match solo, with Hull being treated by a doctor in an ambulance near the clubhouse.
According to event rules, Hull could rejoin the match in progress.
