ST. LEON-ROT, Germany – Charley Hull and Suzann Pettersen roared back from a 4-hole deficit to leave American darlings Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel stunned at the 14th Solheim Cup. It was a nail-biting finish, with one spectacular shot after another from the Euro team.
Hull nearly aced the par-3 15th (for her second of the week) to get them started, and then Pettersen woke up from an utterly lackluster performance with a world-class shot from thick rough on the 16th. The Euros birdied four holes in a row to win, 1 up.
“I told Charley to throw darts at the pins, stay aggressive,” said Pettersen.
