RIO DE JANEIRO – Charley Hull and Brooke Henderson both picked a bad time to go through a tough stretch. Both were in contention for a gold medal late Friday. Both will now struggle to find their way onto the podium.
Great Britain’s Hull, 20, was playing in the final group of the day with Inbee Park and Stacy Lewis. She was 1 under after 11 holes Friday during the third round but made four bogeys over the last seven holes to shoot 3-over 74.
She’s tied for fifth place, six shots behind leader Inbee Park.
