Horschel rule 'a little weird' for namesake

NORTON, Mass. – It’s called the Billy Horschel rule, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the American is entirely comfortable with the distinction.

In 2014, Horschel began the Deutsche Bank Championship well outside the Ryder Cup picture for the U.S. team, but he finished second at TPC Boston, won the next week at the BMW Championship and closed out his season with another victory at the Tour Championship.

Despite his hot play, Horschel was not among the American dozen who lost the Ryder Cup in Scotland; so the PGA of America changed the selection process this time around to allow U.
