INCHEON, South Korea – J.B. Holmes’ off-season plan was already in motion when the first call came a week ago.
“It was a long year and I was just going to take a few weeks off,” he said on Monday at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. “I was going to sit at home and play video games and not play golf.”
That changed on Tuesday when U.S. Presidents Cup captain Jay Haas called to officially put him on standby for this year’s matches to replace Jim Furyk, who was withdrew from the BMW Championship and Tour Championship because of a wrist injury.
