After opening his tournament in 77, Nathan Holman found himself with the trophy on Sunday at the Australian PGA Championship.
In a three-way playoff, it was between Holman, Harold Varner III and former Texas Longhorn Dylan Frittelli, with Holman outlasting the duo on the first extra hole thanks to a winning par.
The Aussie won on home turf at the RACV Royal Pines Resort in Queensland. It was his first career professional victory and earned him full European Tour membership for 2016 and 2017.
“It’s crazy,” Holman said. “Walking off that 18th hole when I hit that shot onto the green, it started to feel like the legs were a little bit shaky, probably thinking into the future a little bit and I tried to snap out of that.
